Series of Fact Sheets including Plain English, Easy Read and Fact Sheets in Other Languages

Blue Knot Foundation has developed a number of series of fact sheets. These meet the needs of the different groups affected by complex trauma including childhood trauma and abuse. This includes those who have experienced it, and those who support them personally and professionally. Fact sheets have also been developed around a range of particular topics of interest.

These fact sheets support safe conversations about trauma. The whole series includes fact sheets for members of the public, services and general practitioners, including how to apply trauma-informed principles to have safe conversations. Only those for members of the public are included here. If you are supporting a friend, family member, colleague or other person who you suspect or know has experienced trauma we hope that you will find the fact sheets helpful.

Blue Knot developed this series of fact sheets to increase understanding about memory and tackle some of the common myths. They are informed by the latest research and are designed to improve understanding around memory including the relationship between trauma and memory, body memories, delayed recall of memory and the role of dissociation. If you have experiences of complex trauma and your memory has been affected, or if you are supporting someone who has, we hope this section will help you understand what has happened better.

Plain English, Easy Read and Other Language Fact Sheets:

Some fact sheets are also presented in Plain English and Easy Read versions for people with disability or who face barriers to reading and understanding. They are tagged accordingly.
