The Truth of Memory and the Memory of Truth: Different Types of Memory and Significance of Trauma

This paper presents current research around the nature of memory. Based on recent research it builds understanding of memory and its two main types – explicit and implicit memory.

Further it fosters understanding the relationship between trauma and memory including insights into the phenomenon of recovered memory or delayed recall.

It challenges some of the common misconceptions around memory in the community and in the sectors in which an informed understanding of memory, including in mental health and legal and justice domains is paramount.
