This paper presents current research into the need for and implementation of trauma informed practice into legal and justice settings. While trauma-informed practice arose in the mental health sector, its uptake into the legal and justice sector is vital.

The principles once embedded will help to spearhead the change needed to optimise outcomes for clients, as well as practitioners and the system itself.
