Our Executive Team

Dr Cathy Kezelman AM is trained as a medical practitioner, President of Blue Knot Foundation, Chair of National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse and has a lived and living experience of complex trauma. Cathy is a respected thought and transformational not-for-profit leader, an innovative strategic thinker and inspirational people manager, informed by strong governance and ethical decision-making principles.

She has been a driving force within Blue Knot, previously ASCA (Adults Surviving Child Abuse), for over 2 decades, spearheading the growth and maturity of a financially sustainable, accountable and credible organisation respected by government and diverse stakeholders which delivers on its purpose daily.

She has held a number of board and key representative roles within the mental health and related sectors, all focused on the healing and recovery of people with the lived and living experience of complex trauma. Cathy is an authority in the field, co-author of a range of seminal Blue Knot publications and guidelines, and strong communicator as a national advocate for trauma-informed transformational change and informed responsiveness to people experiencing the impacts of complex trauma.

On Australia Day 2015 Cathy was awarded an AM “for significant service to community health as a supporter and advocate for survivors of child abuse”.

Tamara O’Sullivan has a background in psychotherapy and leadership and has worked in the human services sector for 25 years in a variety of roles, both in government and non-government services. Leading teams in child protection work; out of home care – supporting children, adolescents, and their carers; specialised disability support programs; adoption services; adolescent work in family preservation, supported independent living and leaving care/after care programs.

She has led the scale up of a state-wide Centre based therapeutic restoration program working with parents and their children to bring them home safely; funded under Australia’s first Social Benefit Bond.

Tamara leads Blue Knot’s professional training and services arm with a strong focus on trauma responsive practice, creating safety in organisations, staff wellbeing and utilising the principles of secure base leadership.

Dominic Brereton has more than 25 years’ experience in corporate and non-profit sectors specialising in transformative innovation, enterprise strategy, portfolio and project management, executive governance, business intelligence and data analytics. He has a BSc (Hons) in Business Information Management Systems from the UK and completed a Micro Masters in Design Thinking through the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 2020.

In more recent roles he has led global strategy for a $1.2B NFP based in the US, and was Chief Operating Officer for International Justice Mission (IJM) – the largest global anti-slavery organisation protecting people in poverty from violence.

Dominic joined Blue Knot in late November 2024 and leads Corporate Services, overseeing operational support through risk management, compliance, finance, portfolio management, technology, administration and grant management.
