Blue Knot Day 2022

This year Blue Knot Day’s annual Festival of Healing will focus on the theme “Nurturing Mind, Body and Soul – Exploring What You Need”.  We will be delivering a range of resources and information through our social media channels, which will cut through the buzzwords, and provide you with real and practical information that you can implement.

All too often as a survivor, or as someone supporting a survivor, we can neglect our own wellbeing. Nurturing our mind, body and soul is not a one-size-fits-all, and we need to discover what works for us.  Blue Knot Day will explore a range of methods and topics to help you on your wellbeing journey.

Blue Knot Day 2022 Schedule

9.00AM Introduction and Welcome to Blue Knot Day Dr Cathy Kezelman, President of Blue Knot Foundation gives a warm welcome to all this Blue Knot Day, and invites everyone to join us and take part in this year’s theme ‘Nurturing Mind, Body and Soul – Exploring What you Need’
9.30AM What does it mean to ‘nurture mind, body and soul’? This year’s  theme acknowledges that each individual’s path to healing and wellbeing is different and finding what is right for you is key.  Every step, no matter how big or small, leads us back to connection, with ourself and with others.
10.00AM Wellbeing Tool & Dimensions of Self Care The five dimensions of self-care provide a road map for establishing self-care practices to balance and nourish your mind, body and soul. This simple wellbeing tool can enable you to give voice to and make your practices conscious no matter how small or short they are to begin with.
11.00AM Webinar 1: Compassion and Empathy This one-hour webinar reminds us of the importance of compassion and empathy, and how we create space to show compassion for ourselves and others. It demonstrates ways we can start to grow compassionate moments for ourselves to build the capacity to heal. Pre-registration essential (see booking details below)
11.15AM Share how you nuture your mind, body and soul. If you’re able and choose to, please share what you’ve found helps you to feel calmer and more grounded. Everyone is different, but someone may find inspiration in how you nurture your mind, body and soul and try it for themselves.
12.00PM Helpful Survivor Resources For many of us finding the  motivation to engage in self-care practices can be a challenge, feeding into our feelings of low self worth and keeping us in a shame cycle. We share some strategies so you can start to regain a sense of control and build on moments of presence  which connect you with your mind, body and soul.
12.30PM Benefits of Meditation Creating a safe space internally can support you to regulate your mind and body if you are feeling overwhelmed. We share a  visualisation which shows how to  create a container of safety for you to use as an anchor.
2.00PM Webinar 2: Building Connection to Body This one-hour webinar explores the ways we can start to safely connect to our bodies. It is important to acknowledge that each person has agency over their own wellbeing, by having internal resources to draw upon. It can support our capacity to regulate and co-regulate with others. Pre registration is essential (see booking details below)
2.30PM Self-Containment Exercise Natajsa Wagnerm facilitates a short exercise that supports grounding and self-containment and something that can support the cultivation of self-compassion.
3.00PM Helpful Resources for Supporters of Survivors Compassion fatigue can be a side effect of caring for someone in need. It causes physical and emotional exhaustion and reduces the ability to empathise.  We share some helpful resources for supporters.
4.00PM Trauma-Informed Mindfulness We share what trauma-informed mindfulness means and how it can help survivors of complex trauma in their recovery journey.
4.30PM Closing Dr Cathy Kezelman, gives some closing thoughts and  talks about the meaning behind the new Blue Knot Foundation brand.
